Photography Composition

Rationale

Front Page -  On the flatplan of my front page i chose to have a main cental medium close up image of the main sell line so that people kew exactly what the main story of the magazine was. I used a three colour pallete of red, white and black to keep a recogniseable theme in the magazine throughout and to keep it simple and so that the magazine was also more clearer and familiar so my use of colours was consistant. I have used a barcode and date in the corner so that the magazine can be scanned and when the magazine was published for. I have also used a Skyline to Promote the Freshers Speciaal and give the magazine a limited edition feel as it is a specialised version of the magazine. I have also used many red bold side sell lines to show what other stories are featured within this issue they are mainly in a bold red colour to contrast with the red and black to stand out more. I have also used a bottom sell line with the simple titles of other stories within this issue.

Contents Page- My Contents page contains the same colour scheme as the front page to keep the familiarity and links to front page to keep the links and show that it is part of the same nagazine and keep the proffesionalism of the magazine. I have also used banners and tables to highlight side sell lines and show extras and features within this issue of the magazine. My contents page also features subscription details and offers to help intice the audience into buying further additions.  The side banner features all of the main and side stories as well as additional extras. The main sell line is in the centre of the page to draw the attention of the reader and it has a little taster of what the sell line is all about so they want to read on and find out more. There are also smaller side sell lines to show whatelse is in the magazine to attract people who are not neccesarily interested in the main sell line. The contents page is more organised with a relaxed clean cut approach so it doesn't seem cluttered so it is easy to read and understnad for the reader. The images used are all linked to the sell lines are positive to show the happy positive feeling of qe life.

Inspirational Texts

The main image stands out and catches the attention of the audience along with the title of who it is.
The magazine has a very simple clean cut approach and does not look overcrowded. The colours contrast and they use the same colour them of white and red to make the page look more appealing. The yellow banner is used to make the side sell lines more noticeable.

NME uses the colour pallete rule of keeping the same three colours in use they use red white and black. The main image is central and is a medium close up image of the main sell line. The sell line headings also use the same colour theme as the magazines Main Sell Line. They use a side banner to emphaise one of the other sell lines.

The Contents page has a large picture of the main story/sell line that the magazine is using in the issue it then has a little paragraph to introduce the story so you want to read more. This Contents page also Feature An A-Z of bands in the issue. As well as the page numbers of News and what is featured in the news part, also Radar which explains and shows the public new bands then it has reviews live gigs and features from the magazine front cover. It also features on the bottom how to subscribe to the magazine and what deals there is. Also what else is featured in the magazine

The magazine runs on the same colour scheme throughout red white and black. The magazine contents has a large image of the main storyline within the issue of the magazine and its page number. It also highlights the pages of the regular features within the magazine. This magazine has an Oasis special and it tells you what it includes and what page includes what. At the bottom there is a Q review banner and it tells the reader what page to go to to find reviews of which band. It also shows the date of the magazine.
